In today's society the acquisition of facts is seen as all-important, but this is not the same as understanding. Wisdom comes when you not only exercise your rational mind, but flex your creative and imaginative muscles too.

Okay, since Wednesday planet is Mercury, the tarot card is The Magician. There are others you can use but he is my absolute favorite for Wednesday, as he reminds me to not only think outside the box but put my creative aspirations into motion. He does more than suggest it....he says, "if you want something, get off your ass and do it, you have everything you need right now to manifest it on a physical level". He's so forceful like that! Daring and bold. Traditionally, his colors and the colors for this day are purple and orange but I also think red as this is the color that motivates me on a physical and creative level. It's all very personal so you do what feels right for you....I always do! Meditate with this card for motivation and to realize the talents which reside within you. The Magician is about putting things into motion.

In the Magician's right hand is a wand raised towards heaven, while the left hand is pointing to the earth. This dual sign is known as tapping into the limitless substance which is always available to us..."as above, so below". Figuring out what you want and communicating it. Put the energy out there. You have all the tools right now to manifest your desires, there is nothing you need outside of yourself once you really know what you want. So what do you want? Do it already....you know you want to! "As I do will, so mote it be!" Think about it.

Anointing Oil: One drop each of Lemon, Rosemary and Mandarin in carrier base (or just three drops of mandarin).

Herbal Tea: Rosemary: is traditionally known as the herb of remembrance – it stimulates the memory. Make a brew using a teaspoon of the dried herb to a cup and drink with meals. Lavender is a good substitute.

Herbs & Plants: Fern, Lavender, Lily of the Valley, Aspen tree and Dill Incense: Lavender, Rosemary and Cedar

Colors: Purple & Orange Crystals: Opal, Agate and Aventurine

Metal: Quicksilver

Tarot Cards: Magician for innovative thinking! The Ace of Swords for new perspective, new ideas and insight. Imagine yourself soaking in a big tub of money! ha!

Crystals and stones for prosperity: jade, sapphire, peridot, turquoise & citrine.

Flowers and plants for prosperity: mint, orange blossoms, honeysuckle, maple tree & oak tree. Plants in general, trees, flowers, sticks, stones, roots. Gifts from the earth equal prosperity.

These are just some ideas. It's all very personal. I just do what feels right in the moment to help motivate and inspire me on a physical level. This day is about realizing your dreams and planting the seed. Most exciting. Plant something as a symbol of your desire, nurture it and watch it grow.

Moon Day

From the Victorian Romantic Tarot

by Magic Realist Press

Monday is ruled by the Moon and is a day to connect with our deepest sense of self. There is no right or wrong deck. You can have one deck or you can have many. I have several decks but I only have two main decks that I read with on a regular basis. I have one personal deck that I use just for myself and it pretty much goes with me everywhere. But depending on my mood or my question I may choose from one of my other decks. I also have a deck that I use when I read for clients. I recommend that your first deck be something that inspires you. The images of your main deck should draw you in, touch your heart, making you want touch them all the time. Depending on how far you wish to take your tarot study, you may eventually choose to purchase a more traditional deck, perhaps something based on the Golden Dawn system, to help you have a better grasp of tarot. For my personal deck I use the medium size Illuminated Tarot. The deck I use for professional readings is the large size Illuminated Tarot. Both of these decks are handmade by Carol Herzer. They are a recolored version of the Waite deck. I paid the extra money for the iridescent paint and they were well worth the money. Her amazing use of color is captivating. I love them! For meditation and study purposes I use the B.O.T.A. Tarot deck (which I colored myself), the Rider-Waite Tarot Deck and the Golden Dawn Tarot. My first deck and the deck that I used as my personal deck for years was the Thoth Tarot Deck by Aleister Crowley. I still love this deck, as I find the images positively hypnotic, but ultimately it is the Golden Dawn system that I prefer. The Aeclectic Tarot is one my favorite sites for browsing and has a vast collection to look at. I shop for new tarot decks at stores such as Eclectic By Nature in Greensboro, NC and various books stores such as Borders, Barnes & Noble and Amazon. So from one tarot geek to another....it's your deck, get the one that speaks to you.

Divination

"The practice of seeking knowledge of the future of the unknown by supernatural means", Oxford English Dictionary.

People have always been fascinated by divination, prophecy and the future. And why not, it is fascinating. While we may fear it a little, we still want to know. We may seek the aid of a gifted Intuitive, AKA "Psychic", with the ability to see into our lives and future but what can we really learn from them? Most people assume that what a seer tells them is the future apparent but while a diviner will report the possibilities given the current situation, each of us holds the power to change that future. And for those of us who believe that we chose our path and spiritual goals before coming into this life, also realize our chosen destination remains in check and balance with our own free will. Our life choices are ours and ours alone. And because we always have the capacity to change and create our reality, nothing is engraved in stone. So while a psychic may offer insight and enlightenment she/he cannot firmly decide our future. Only we have the ability to make the necessary changes needed to manifest our desires.
